SAMPLE THE WATER WORKS FOR MICROPLASTICS
Plastic never goes away. It just breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces in the environment. Now we know this is harming our health, too.
Microplastics have been found polluting waterways across NSW. Join the Albury Greens to test the Murray River for microplastics. This citizen science event will support researchers to better understand where plastic pollution is coming from and how it is impacting our environment and our health. This is a hands-on event for all community members, open to all ages and abilities.
This will be followed by community Q&A, led by Dr Amanda Cohn MLC about what we can do to put a stop to plastic pollution. Capacity for the water sampling activity is limited to 20 people. Bring your hat (or raincoat), sunscreen, and a water bottle.
Please note that there is no ramp down to the sampling site, and access requires walking across some bark, gravel and some steep areas.
