NSW HEALTH MUST END ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SHEBA MEDICAL CENTER

NSW Health must end its relationship with Sheba Medical Center

We’re calling on NSW Health to end its formal partnership with a medical centre that directly supports Israeli Defence Forces

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NSW Health and Sheba Medical Center has a stated aim of strengthening the relationship between the State of Israel and NSW.

The United Nations Commission of Inquiry has found that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute a genocide.

NSW Health needs to end its relationship with Sheba Medical Center by terminating the MoU. It's continuation in the current context makes NSW Health complicit in a genocide. It's not in keeping with our obligations under international law, and it's not in keeping with community expectation.

Ending the MoU won’t impact patients

The termination of the agreement will not have any tangible impact on patients in NSW.

The MoU allows for the exchange of administrative and scientific personnel and transfer of equipment or data. The Minister for Health and Regional Health, the Hon Ryan Park,  has previously advised that conversations to date have been exploratory in nature, with no tangible undertakings.

The MoU states that it may be terminated by either participant at any time. It’s simple – and the right thing to do.
